Courage International Joins Mass Mobilization in Iceland Against Israel’s Genocide in Gaza

Courage International is proud to announce its participation in the broad coalition Samstaða með Palestínu (“Solidarity with Palestine”), which is organizing mass rallies across Iceland to oppose Israel’s genocide of the Palestinian people.

The demonstrations, titled “Iceland against genocide” will take place on Saturday, September 6 at 2:00 PM in Reykjavík, Akureyri, Ísafjörður, Stykkishólmur, and Egilsstaðir. Over 60 organizations have already pledged their support, including Iceland’s largest workers’ unions, reflecting the overwhelming resentment among the Icelandic public toward the government’s inaction in the face of Israel’s atrocities.

This marks the first project Courage International undertakes in Iceland, the home base of its new Global Director, Þórhildur Sunna Ævarsdóttir. Courage stands united with civil society, labor movements, and human rights defenders in demanding justice, accountability, and an end to the massacre of the Palestinian people.
